Hi

Under the Savage character class the savage gets horde at level 15. There is nothing in the table about starting a tribe at level 4. However, under the section on organisations it says a savage gets a starting tribe at level 4.

i am assuming the tribe starts at 4 and is just an ommission.

Advice appreciated.

Hm, do you mean the line on p. 124 that says "You must be an ogiichiida Savage" as the prerequisite for a savage tribe? That means that you have to be 4th level before you can do it, but it doesn't mean you get a tribe automatically at 4th level.

Now, there aren't any other requirements listed, so it is pretty easy for a savage to just say, "I'm taking a scene and organizing my tribe." It's meant to be that way; a savage should be closely associated with tribal life (just like a prince of wolves' racial ability is pack/social-based). But on the other hand, I didn't want to completely cut it off from GM control and say, "All savages at 4th level have a savage tribe." Nobles get that - all nobles have a house - because it's a defining feature of the class in SK. But I wanted the savage to be able to run without his tribe, although in most cases he won't and will, in fact, have an easy time getting his tribe together. (Of course noble houses can be lost too, depending on the campaign, but that's more rule zero territory.)

Or maybe there is a typo somewhere else that I'm missing, and the p. 124 quote is not what you're referring to.

Yes, that was it. It seemed unclear the way it was written. It seemed to suggest it was a default organisation gain at level 4 but did not appear on the character benefits.

I see what you are saying now so it makes sense.
