Hi good people.
I've been reading the game a second time in an effort to really learn the rules. And I must say, the good impression I got from the first read through has been confirmed. It is a good read and the rules are great. Heck, I even like the art! My only reservation is the use of style sheets. I normally hate the use of special props in games - like battlemats, miniatures and poker chips. But I think I can manage style sheets, but I will have to test them out in actual play to be sure.
So to the questions. I like the role of religion in the spellbound kingdoms. It makes me think of Cardinal Richeleu, Aramis and the other musketeers. And that is a good thing. But I'm not sure how the church should be represented in game. Do they meddle in magic? If so, what style do they use? And what kind of organisation should be used to represent a sect/cult/church order? This kind of organisation seems to be missing in the book.
And a couple of comments. When I read the book this time I was confused by the placement of the rules for reputations and wealth. Wouldn't it be more sensible to place these things among the rules for inspiration, skills and mood? Oh, btw. I think that the passage about reputations contains remains of the old skill rules (One increase in die sice pr. level up to three). And under the rules for social encounters there are two following passages that are called Theme Modifiers.
Anyway. Good game.

Hey Arkat,
Not sure I can answer to your real questions, but I sa down with a friend last week while waiting for others to arrive for the game and we pulle dout the style sheets to see if they were fun to play with. They were. Before hand we were optamistic but curious. by the end everyone ariving though we were playing some strange but apprently fun board game. We explained.
I am not a fan of minitures or detailed battle maps (D&D 3.X and 4th, Savage Worlds, etc). but the Style sheets were very cool.
just my two cents.
