Does anyone have the skills required to build a character sheet?

I could do it but it would end up looking extremely simple. =)

I know SK is the kind of game where a character sheet could be made on-the-fly extremely easily but I'd like something neat and official-looking to use.

Simple method: come up with something in Word or some other word processor, and add some fancy borders/patterns/whatever.

"Better" method: use a PDF editor to do it. Bigger pain but more flexibility.

"Best" (imo) method: use something like MS Office's Publisher, or Adobe InDesign to create something laid out exactly how you want it, without much of a hitch. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of either at home :( otherwise I'd make one.

I made up a plain little sheet that is pretty boring to look at but functional.

Perhaps I'll check out Publisher and see what I can do. Unfortunately I don't have InDesign. =( Regardless, the outcome will surely be sub par but that is better than nothing at least.

AFAIK (having used both programs), and I could be wrong, but Publisher and InDesign are effectively the same thing, just InDesign is more of an industry standard and probably a bit "better" of a program, though I don't have enough experience with the two to rank one above the other. The concept is pretty much the same for both, though.

I found myself looking for a Character Sheet too. Was expecting it at the end of all the Combat Style Sheets, but that was a minor quibble.

I'm going to work on a character sheet this weekend. If it's worth sharing, I'll post it up here.

Sweetness. =D
I'm sure whatever you come up with will be worth sharing.
Thanks in advance, either way!

I've found SK doesn't really need a character sheet printed out; paper works perfectly fine. Off the top of my head, you basically just have your stats, mood, history, inspirations, and if you want to write them down your racial bonuses or combat styles. Then again, even D&D basic had an official character sheet despite not actually needing one at all.

Just had to register to say that the character sheet you've created is very nice. Thanks a bunch!

Very cool, I like it. I'd have to test it out in-game to see how well or not it works, of course, but if nothing else it looks good and covers what appears to be everything important that I can think of. Nice work!

BTW, could this get moved to the new "Homebrew Creations" forum? It seems appropriate.

If I had admin powers, I would grant your wish, sir. =)

I like the character sheet, BiggerBoat! Very excellent, very professional. I wish I had a similar sort of savvy!

If I had just one quibble with it, it would be that it is two pages long.

The double-edged sword of his character sheet is that it works for just about all size writing :) Also it gives separate lines for each thing, rather than just a "write in this big area for this topic" section. To fit it on one page, you'd have to change that up.

I went ahead and posted the link in the homebrew section as well. Didn't realize that forum was up-and-running already.

Yeah. that actually wasn't my intent. I wanted it to be one page. But, surprisingly, there's lots of bits and bobbles which make up a character in SpellBound Kingdoms.

There's probably a bit more space given each section than many characters will need, but I prefer character sheets that your character can grow into. That said, we'll see how things suss out in play, and I'm open to feedback and might consider making a condensed version.
