Or, there, rather. Over at DriveThruRPG.com. Go get it. :) Woot! I am so happy! It's a great feeling. Now, fair warning: I'm calling this the pdf version. There are only four monster styles in the book. There just wasn't room. The thing is already stuffed to the gills at 261 pages! And by room, I mean room in my life. :) It's a great thing about pdfs that you don't have to worry about page count, but I do have to worry about all the other stuff like a job, family, etc. There will be more monster styles in the hardcopy. But it's not such a shame, actually, because you can get a lot of mileage out of the styles that are there. Plus, one of the points of SK is a humanocentric world, and you get over 20 fighting and magic styles! Still, I do feel a little bad that there aren't more monster styles there, so I knocked another 12% off the price. Get it while it's hot! Also, since a fair number of things didn't make it in (Azenahal map for one! Sorry Gill!) I am going to be putting some stuff up here as freebies. Check in after the show! Gen Con being the show, by the way! I don't know how often I'll be able to check in here. I imagine pretty often, but if not, come stop by one of the demo games. Or email me!

Congratulations, Frank. I've been following this project since I saw your combat primer linked on ENWorld. I know it's been a labour of love for you, and I imagine it's a fantastic feeling to finally have it out into the public eye. Best of luck at Gen Con.

Its great to see it at last. I've been psyched about this since I saw the Combat Primer. I can't wait to hear about the print edition.
Have a great GenCon.

I hope to be making a purchase very soon. =D
Any news on the voucher plan, Mr. Brunner?
Also, is there any way you could provide the cover art? For promotional consideration. =)

Greendotonline gift cards. They have variable amount ones for sale so you can get a $20 gift card and you can register it so that you can make online purchases. Don't get their reloadable card, just the gift card. I've also had good luck with AMEX gift cards.
Stay away from the giftcardmall visa gift cards. They are finicky with online purchases.

Just curious if there are any planned updates in the short term for the PDF. I'm referring specifically to the page numbering issue (numbers restart with every chapter), and--to a lesser degree--the lack of a TOC. The page numbering issue is going to make it very difficult to make any notes of my own which refer to the book.
I'm asking because I'm hesitant to use up all of the printer ink if there will be any sort of corrected version in the near future. If not, I'll go ahead and print with abandon and look forward to the hardcopy.

You can always put a sticky note where each chapter begins for easy flipping. Then, in your notes write down the chapter number - page. Table of Contents can be written up pretty fast on your own... though that is sort of a pain. Someone mentioned on rpg.net that no Index exists. That is probably the bigger issue, for me anyways. That said, I'm more interested to know if these will be recurring problems for the print version? NiallNai wrote:Greendotonline gift cards. I'm in between jobs and it has gotten pretty bad, I just moved in with my sister. I never thought I'd be this long without a job. x_x In any event, if I can sell some of my stuff real quick and get one of these cards you mentioned it is still possible... Even with the previously mentioned flaws (ToC, index, page numbering) the quality of the game would still be very much worth it to me. =)

The quality of the game is very much worth it. I've really like what I have read so far.
If you're trying to sell some of your stuff, try Amazon Marketplace. They take a bite commission wise but they don't charge to list an item like eBay and the money will go straight to your bank account.

Spellbound Kingdoms is #4 on the overall list at DTRPG while it is #1 in the Hottest Small Press area.

Your enthusiasm for the game has been a positive experience, MacLeod. I don't think a rabid fan like you should go wanting because of bad luck combined with hard times. PM me and I will buy you a copy.

Bought the pdf earlier today, I can deal with the layout issues, nothing that bothers me too much. I was just curious if whatever monster styles didn't make it into the PDF, but do make it into the hardcopy will be made available as PDF?
I don't buy deadtree much anymore as I do most of my gaming off my netbook and was just curious, either way i'm enjoying what i'm reading.

Hi, everyone! I've been waiting for Spellbound Kingdoms for months, and managed to download it shortly after getting to my hotel in Indy. I had a chance to glance through the pdf before we headed out for a brewery tour. I really like what I'm seeing, and can't wait to read it through and, hopefully, get a game together. (Sadly, I missed getting a spot at Gen Con, but I'll try to stop by and observe a game).
